Refilling Your Brother TN360 Cartridge Yourself
It is pretty understandable to feel a bit of despair when your Brother printer warns you that your tn360 toner cartridge is almost empty–anyone with a laser printer is all too familiar with this feeling, themselves! The cost of ink or toner have risen dramatically, and replacing that one cartridge of black toner can easily set you back $60 or $70 that you worked hard to earn. That’s almost a full day worth of wages for many people! However you can rest a little easier knowing that there are cheaper ways to get your printer working again without shelling out a day’s worth of wages to pay for it.
You can, of course, invest in purchasing a compatible TN-360 cartridge or a refurbished one from a company online. These are a much less expensive alternative to buying a cartridge from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). However, it is even less expensive to invest in refilling the toner cartridge yourself. You can easily find a refill kit online, and once you are familiar with the process it only takes approximately ten minutes to refill your empty cartridge.
Once you have the proper kit refilling the cartridge is easy. First you need use a knife or screwdriver to remove the plastic plug you will find on the side of the cartridge. This will give you access to the toner reservoir, which you will want to drain of any remaining toner before proceeding. Once the cartridge is totally empty make sure to clean the outside thoroughly. Then insert the funnel that came with your kit and carefully fill the cartridge back up with toner, being sure to avoid spilling anywhere. Once the cartridge is full simply replace the plastic plug, make sure it is tightly secured to the cartridge, and then shake the whole unit side to side gently to ensure even distribution of toner. Replace the cartridge in your machine and print some test pages to ensure the toner is flowing smoothly. And then…you’re done! That’s it, the process is literally that simple.
